Request for Reconsideration of Materials
Spruce Grove Public Library subscribes to the Library Association of Alberta’s Statement on Intellectual Freedom which states:
“Alberta libraries have a responsibility to guarantee and facilitate access to all expressions of knowledge, opinion, creativity and intellectual activity including those which some elements of society consider unconventional, unpopular, unorthodox or unacceptable.”
Further, the Board and Staff of Spruce Grove Public Library value and respect our community members’ input, and therefore welcome the public to its Board Meetings where they are invited to voice their concerns.

You may search our catalogue to check and see if the item is available in libraries throughout the TRAC library system.
What happens next?

The item will be reviewed by management.

Once a decision has been made, the patron will be informed in writing.

A scanned copy of the complaint form and the written response to the patron will be kept for future reference.

As a contribution to the profession, the challenge will be reported to freedomtoread.ca in order to keep up to date records of challenges across Canada.
