When will the library be open?

The library reopened on Jun 23 with restrictions in place. There is currently no browsing of the collections, no programs or room bookings. Materials are still available for holds pickup and customer service is available for account inquiries.  

Can I browse for items at the library? 

Browsing is currently unavailable. We are happy to retrieve items for you or help you place a request.  
 

How do I make a request for library materials?

Effective July 13, TRACpac is available to place holds. 
Existing patrons may request items online through TRACpac or by calling 780-962-4423 ext.400

Will I still be able to pick up my holds?

Yes all holds from when the library closed will be available for pickup until July 31. Holds placed after we reopened will be available for pickup within 10 days on the holds wall.  

Can I return my items to the Spruce Grove Public Library?

Yes, you can return any items that fit through the 24 hr drop-off slots located outside to the left of the main library entrance. Any ‘oversize’ items (such as backpacks, sensory items, or kits) that will not fit, can be returned in the library front entrance. Returned items will remain on your account for 72 hours following return.  

My account is about to expire. How do I renew it?

All SGPL accounts that expired while we were closed have been extended until July 31st. If you card expires after July 31 you can visit us in person to renew your membership.  

I don’t have a library card. Can I still sign up?

You can visit us in person and present photo I.D  to get a library card.  You can also register for a card using online registration. Your temporary card will be good for 1 month and you will have access to eResources with your account. 

Can I donate items right now?

No, we are not taking donations currently.Please check the guidelines for donating items for when we are accepting them.

How can I access eResources if my account is blocked? 

If your account is blocked you’ll have to call or email the library at 780-962-4423 or library@sgpl.ca.
Your account may be blocked if you have fines are over $10.00. You can pay fines over the phone with a credit card.
